Adding Photos and Video to Your Blog

Okay, now is the time to learn how to add pictures and even video to your blog. It's very easy and once you learn just how easy it really is, you'll be posting new pictures all the time!

Let's start with teaching you how to add a picture to the sidebar of your blog. Click on 'Customize' at the top right of your blog.

Then click on 'Add a Gadget'.

This will take you to the list of gadgets you can add. Scroll down to 'Picture' and click the white plus sign in the blue box.

This is the screen that appears: You can give your picture a title, caption, and even link it to another website. You can choose to not do these things and just add your picture. You can add your picture from your own computer or from the web. If you're adding from your computer, click on 'Browse' and retrieve your picture from the file on your computer. Then click 'Save'. Do the same when adding a picture from the web. Just type in the address and then click 'Save'.

After that, click on the 'View Blog' tab and you should be able to see the new picture you added on the side of your blog. Hopefully, you like what you see!

Now let's add a picture to a post. Click on 'New Post'.

This screen will appear. Click on the little landscape scene on the right.

This will appear: Just like adding pictures to the sidebar, choose a picture from your own computer or from the web. After you've chosen your picture, you can decide how it will appear in your post. You can choose it to appear on the left, center, or right. You can also choose it to be small, medium, or large. After you've made your choices, click on 'Upload Image.'

When it's done uploading, click on 'Done'. You will then see the picture in your post. You can continue to add more photos the same way. Go ahead and add text to your post to describe your picture if you want. When you're ready, publish your post. Then click on, 'View Blog'. You should see your post with your picture(s) in it. Great job!

Want to add a video to your post? While in the 'new post' window, instead of clicking on the little landscape scene, click on the image just to the right of it. As you rest your mouse on it, it should say 'add video'. Click on that. This is what you should see: Click on 'Browse' and retrieve your video from your computer. Give your video a title and click in the white box (agreeing that you're not uploading anything obscene or stolen.) Then click on 'Upload Video'. When it's done, go ahead and publish your post! It's that easy!
